Dr. Kelly Avritt has joined our administrative team as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.   She is filling the position formerly held by Dr. George Willey, who has decided to pursue a long-time goal of teaching at the collegiate level.  Dr. Avritt has twenty-two years in public education, thirteen of which was as a district or campus leader.  In her role, Dr. Avritt will support the district-wide curriculum plan and will assist in instituting a systemic movement toward a philosophy of teaching and learning that successfully prepares students to meet current academic challenges and life after graduation.  Her plan is to develop processes designed to meet the needs of all student populations.  We are excited to welcome Dr. Avritt to Florence ISD and look forward to seeing the exciting changes she will bring about.
